Why is HVAC maintenance beneficial?

The Benefits Of Regular HVAC Maintenance

They would refill the coolant level and check the parts for wear and tear. By retaining the proper function of these parts, you can benefit from a longer service from your AC.

Keep your warranty valid

HVAC manufacturers cover these sophisticated appliances under warranties. However, to avail the benefits of these warranties, you need to maintain the HVAC system. Unless you hire professionals for routine maintenance, you would be breaching the criteria to avail of the privileges of warranty.

Choosing the right type of Air Conditioner

When you hunt for the best air conditioner to beat the summer heat, what do you look out for? While you have several brands like Braemar, Brivis, or Samsung to choose from, it pays to know what you expect from them. Beyond cooling your interiors, the AC is responsible for controlling the humidity level in your rooms. Besides, in winter, you might use your ACs to heat up your indoor space. With several reputed brands available to choose from, how do you make your choice?

Let’s check out how you must decide on your choice while purchasing the right air-cooling system for your home.

Choosing the right type of AC

Reputed brands like Breezair, Coolair, and Mitsubishi have come up with different types of ACs. Depending on your budget and the area you want to cool, you can choose from window AC, split AC, portable AC, and even a central air conditioning system.

Choosing the Kilowatts

As long as you work out the KW calculation right, you can get your AC from any of the reputed brands.

2.5kw

5-6kw

However, you also need to consider some other factors like the mean room temperature and the ceiling height while calculating the capacity of the AC. Whether you go for Lennox, Bonaire, or Actron Air, make sure to get the KW right.

AC for consistent cooling

Looking for a more consistent cooling system in your room? It would be a logical decision to go for an inverter AC. These systems are quieter, and would help you to reduce your energy bills.

In ACs without inverter, the compressor regulates the right temperature indoors by turning on and off several times. When the system switches on each time, there is a spike in the electric supply. As the system operates, the compressor turns on several times. At the end of the day, the AC consumes more power.

In an inverter AC, the compressor remains on all the time. However, when the AC reaches the desired temperature, the compressor keeps operating at a lower speed. This makes the process efficient and consumes lower energy.

Well, when you try to choose the best AC from one of the reputed brands, make sure to get it customized for your interiors. Consulting a reputed professional would help you make the right decision.

Choosing the right Airconditioner

One way to beat the summer heat is by using an air conditioner, but with so many different types and models on the market, it can be difficult to know which one is right for your home. In this blog post, we'll go over some of the things you need to consider when choosing an air conditioner so that you can make the best decision for your home.

When the temperatures start to rise, the last thing you want is for your air conditioner to give out on you. But with so many different types and models on the market, it can be difficult to know which choosing the right air conditioning. In this article, we'll go over some of the things you need to consider when choosing an air conditioner so that you can make the best decision for your home.

One of the most important factors to consider when choosing an air conditioner is size. If your unit is too small, it won't be able to effectively cool your home. On the other hand, if it's too big, it will cool your home too quickly, resulting in wasted energy and money. To find out what size unit you need, we recommend that you consult with a professional like Too Hot to Handle who can help you choose the right sized unit for your home.

Energy Efficiency

Another important factor to consider is energy efficiency. With energy prices on the rise, it's important to choose a unit that won't put a strain on your wallet each month. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to measure a unit's energy efficiency. The two most common methods are EER and SEER ratings. EER stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio and SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The higher the rating, the more efficient the unit will be.

Operational Features

When it comes down to it, not all air conditioners are created equal. Some units come with features that others don't have and vice versa. That's why it's important to think about what features are important to you and what features you can live without. For example, some units come with built-in timers while others have remote controls. Some units even come with WiFi capabilities so that you can control them from your smartphone or tablet.

Health Issues That Can Arise

The increased 'sick-home' feeling we sometimes experience in the winter is mostly attributable to faulty, or improperly installed or maintained heating units. Some general health issues that can occur from ‘sick-home’ syndrome include the following:

Carbon monoxide (CO) is known as "the silent killer," because it can be produced by poorly maintained gas equipment. You must serviced and inspect all gas appliances regularly to prevent accidental release of the poisonous gas.

Other Things That Can Happen

Dependent on existing personal health, and age CO2 emission exposure period and strength can cause:

Do not take any chances. Gas heaters should be maintained every 18 to 24 months to keep up with industry requirements.

Benefits Of a Ducted Geelong Heating System

If you are wondering how you can benefit from getting a ducted heating system installed in your home this winter, read on:

  1. All Year Round Reliability

Gas ducted heating is among the most dependable heating systems since it performs well in any climate. Consistent performance throughout the year has several benefits, including a reduced need for heating or cooling in the winter. When compared to other types of heating, this one may be less expensive. This also ensures that your house will be warm and toasty all winter long thanks to the Geelong heating system.

  1. Provides Allergen-Friendly, Clean Air

All of the air in a gas-ducted system is heated by an internal combustion system and then filtered via a separate, readily removable filter. This guarantees that your home's air is not unhealthy for you and your family because of factors like dryness, odour, or fumes. For long-term air quality, you should also get your carbon monoxide detectors serviced once a year.

  1. Cost-Effective Geelong Heating Solution

When considering heating options for their homes, many Australians rule them out due to the high upfront and ongoing expenditures. Gas ducted heating systems are unique. Most installations can be completed in a single day, and the system is both eco-friendly and effective at keeping the house warm. We recommend cleaning the filters once every six months because doing so has a significant impact on both efficiency and cost.

The Geelong heaters zoning technology enables you to decide which rooms/spaces are heated and at what times. Get Your Air Conditioner Ready for Summer

When the temperature rises, don’t be caught in the hot summer heat! The last thing you want on the first really hot day of summer is to find your central air conditioner doesn’t work. But, this can be the case if you don’t do a bit of quick annual maintenance before summer arrives. Spring is the perfect time in Melbourne to get your air conditioner ready for summer.

A central air conditioner utilizes an indoor air handler and an outdoor compressor. The condenser unit is typically located outdoors. This is the portion of your air conditioning unit that you’ll want to clean and maintain. Your air conditioner has been sitting idle during the cold winter months collecting leaves and other debris. Replacing the filters, cleaning the condenser, and performing a few minor checks will get your AC unit into shape so it’s ready to operate and cool your home efficiently this summer.

Here’s how to get your air conditioner ready for summer

1. Safety First
Turn off the circuit breaker before working on your air conditioning system. Be sure to turn off the power to the condenser at the service panel before working on your air conditioner unit. The condenser also typically has a 240-volt weatherproof disconnect box located near the unit. This contains a lever, fuses, or a circuit breaker to shut off the condenser. Be sure to turn this off as well.

2. Clean or Replace the Filters
Clean or replace your furnace or air-handler filters whenever they begin to looked clogged with dust. Or, at least twice a year. Not changing these filters will restrict air flow and reduce the efficiency of your air conditioning unit. Dust filters also recirculate dust into your home.

3. Clean the Air Conditioner’s Condenser Coils
Clean your air conditioning unit’s condenser coils and fan of debris. A central air conditioner’s condenser unit, typically located outdoors. It is a large fan in a metal box with sides that look like grilles. If your condenser unit was covered during the winter, uncover it. In this case, there’s likely not much debris to clear away. If it wasn’t covered, you’ll likely need to clear away a larger accumulation of leaves, yard debris and dirt. Make sure the fan is free and clear of all debris. Next, check inside the box. Air moves across radiator-style condenser coils. Check to see if debris has clogged the coils. If so, these coils need to be cleaned so your condenser unit works at it’s highest efficiency.

To clean the coils:
• Remove the side and top panels or protective grilles from the condenser unit. Note: Double check to make certain the power to the condenser unit is turned off.
• Lift off the top. The fan may be attached to it making it heavy. Note: Don’t tug any of the wires connected to the fan.
• Using a refrigerator coil brush or a soft brush on a vacuum, gently clean the coils from the outside of the unit. After you clean the outside, vacuum coils from the inside. Note: Be careful not to bend the delicate fins or damage the coils.

4. Clean and Clear Debris
Clear all leaves and debris out of the base of the condenser. If your air conditioning unit has a drain, make sure the drain is clear. Clean the blower’s fan blades using a vacuum or a rag. Clean up any excess water inside the unit. Once everything is cleared and cleaned, reassemble the condenser.

5. Check the Coolant Lines
Refrigerant tubes or pipes run from your air conditioner’s evaporator on the air handler to the condenser outside. These lines are usually covered with a foam coolant line insulation. Check to see if there are areas where the insulation is frayed or missing. If so, replace it with new foam insulation sleeves, or wrap the lines in a spiral fashion with foam insulation tape.

6. Test the Unit
Test your newly cleaned air conditioning unit after allowing the unit to dry thoroughly. You’ll need to turn the power back on to your condenser unit.

Turn the power to the condenser back on by doing the following:
• Turn the thermostat in your home to off.
• Turn on the power at both the disconnect box and at the main panel.
• Switch the thermostat to cool.

Please note: The air handler or furnace blower blows the resulting chilled and dehumidified air through ductwork to the home’s rooms. Repairs to your central air conditioner’s sealed refrigeration system is not a do-it-yourself job. They should be handled by a professional HVAC service pro. You can, however, do certain cleaning and maintenance tasks yourself to ensure efficient operation and keep the need for professional service people to a minimum.
